Sophie and Luke invited me to capture their wedding in a lovely little Essex town, Hertingfordbury. I had only once been to this venue before but little did I know about the plans that were in store for the day!
With bridal preparations taking place at mums lovely cottage in the centre of Hertford, Sophie really did look a million dollars from the moment I walked into the door. Hair in massive rollers and make up being touched up, I was welcomed in and could see that the champagne had been flowing quite a while.
The 13th century church which they had chosen for the beautiful ceremony was St Marys church in Hertingfordbury was the place to be on their special day with over one hundered guests. St. Mary’s Church itself is situated on rising ground to the east of the village, overlooking the water meadows that lead down to the River Mimram. Simply the most amazing church for Sophie and Luke with so much atmosphere and love share.
Following the ceremony we were directed towards the incredible Walkern Hall located in Stevenage, to await the arrival of Sophie and Luke for their traditional, boho, classic reception. Walkern Hall itself is a imposing Georgian Manor House surrounded by beautiful gardens, magnificent trees and extensive parkland which was used as the feature for the marquee which Sophie had decided that she wanted for their wedding.
Being a lovely summers evening the bride and groom had opted for a less informal first dance setting, having an open air first dance under the evening sunlight. Truly magical and full of energy.
Ive only every trusted my gut on everything, I don’t trust my heart, I don’t trust my head. I trust my gut
